Day in the Bay
This full-day experience has something for everyone, from island visits to dolphin watching.
Overview
This full-day experience has something for everyone, from island visits to dolphin watching. Stop off at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island to swim, eat your lunch and enjoy the views.
Tour description
Discover some of the key historical and geographical sights in the Bay of Islands as you cruise through the inner islands.
Back in 1927, Albert Fuller acquired a contact to deliver cream and other goods between island farms and the mainland. Locals and visitors began to come along for the ride, and it became a must-do activity. Today we still follow the original route, delivering mail and supplies to the islands while we show you the very best of the Bay, from its historical highlights to its most scenic spots.
Keep an eye out for dolphins, other marine mammals and a variety of aquatic birdlife in their natural environment. Enjoy an extended stop off at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island where you can explore the island on one of the many walking tracks, have a swim or snorkel, enjoy some lunch at the Cafe, rent a kayak or paddleboard (subject to availability) or just relax on the beach.

"Just amazing is all I can say!!! Super trip out on the water!! Great staff and the captains commentary throughout the trip was informative and lots of really interesting facts - he really knew his stuff. The boat itself was very comfortable, able to buy snacks and drinks, also the toilets were clean. We got to see penguins, lots of bird life, common dolphins and bottle nosed dolphins. We loved the stop in the island for lunch!
Breathtaking!

"Money so well spent. Learn so much history about the birth of NZ. Have fun on a boat, see dolphins and fish, and heaps of other cool stuff. Captain and crew made the trip so enjoyable, can’t thank them enough. We even had rain for the first half of the day but still one of the most enjoyable trips I’ve ever done. Just book it!!"
So good. Just needs to be done.
